Lift Technicians: Lift mechanics or technicians assemble, install and maintain electric and hydraulic cargo lifts, passenger lifts, and escalators and also maintain and repair lifts and escalators. Experienced lift mechanics work more safely and efficiently. Lift mechanics or technicians regularly test lifts and escalators to make sure they are running efficiently. They are responsible for ensuring that the lift system is compliant with Building Safety Code and Equipment Safety Regulations.
Essential Education and Training: Various technical colleges and private institutes in India offer various courses for lift mechanics or technicians including ITI and Engineering Diploma courses. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to these courses is at least a 10th pass.
